NFC West QB's Going Down Like Flys

Two stories I noticed on ESPN.com this morning.

First, the Rams are sitting Marc Bulger and starting Gus Frerotte (pictured on the right). Scott Linehan indicates that it is not a permanent move just one to help Bulger recover from his injuries and get a new perspective on the St. Louis offense.

Secondly, 49ers QB Alex Smith may have a serious injury to his shoulder courtesy of Rocky Bernard and the Seattle Seahawks. This is good news for the Seahawks since the 49ers are trying to overtake the Seahawks.
The Rams are done, the 49ers proved that they are not ready to play with the big boys, and the Cardinals' win over Pittsburgh impressed me. This is looking like the Seahawks division if they can take care of business.
