Seahawks vs. Chargers, Game Notes

Here are a few notes and observations I took from the game:

-The OL protection was good on the first series. Hasselbeck had plenty of time to find a receiver, including the TD pass to Branch where he looked to his left then came back across the field to Branch.

-Wallace had a rough start, but finished the game strong. I thought it was interesting that Green didn't get any snaps.

-Darryl Tapp looked great. He sacked the QB twice and forced a fumble. Him and Fisher is going to go down to the last practice for the starting job if Tapp continues to play like this. Tapp seems like he may be too small, but his quickness may give him the edge.

-Ben Obomanu took a huge lead in the competition for the 5th WR spot.

-I was not impressed with the play of the 2 new safeties, Grant and Russell. While it was only the first pre-season game I was hoping to see them more effective on run support when the LB's missed.

-Weaver did nothing this game. 4 rushes for 6 yards is not getting the job done.

-Plackemeier had some solid punts that allowed the coverage team to get back and not give up huge returns.
